Leighton Holdings Limited is an international contractor. It operates in more than 25 countries in Asia, the Middle East, Southern Africa and throughout Australia. The Company, together with its subsidiaries, operates in the infrastructure, resources and property markets. Principal activities of the Company within these markets are construction, contract mining, property development and other services (including environmental, telecommunications and operations and maintenance). On December 5, 2011, it acquired the business of DPS Bristol (M) Sdn Bhd. During the year ended December 31, 2011, it liquidated John Holland Mining Pty Ltdl, Lucon Pty Ltd, Nexus Point Hong Kong Company Limited, and Tensacciai Pty Ltd. In November 2011, it sold HQ North office tower in Fortitude Valley, and it purchased Nordic Oil USA 1, LP’s interest in certain oil, gas and mineral leases. In September 2012, it sold Thiess Waste Management to Remondis AG & Co KG.
